Ways to Reduce Wrinkles

Regardless of your age, you probably need to start paying attention to your wrinkles or the possibility that your wrinkles may be starting to form.  Many of us are losing the battle to wrinkles and watching the glow of youth start to dim.  There are certain things to stay away from and certain things you should do to ensure your skin is looking its absolute best.

Sun

We all love to get outside and soak up some rays, but we have to limit these activities or ensure we are protecting our skin.  The main way to protect your skin is to ensure that you are applying the appropriate sunscreen and re-applying throughout the day.  You should also be wearing hats or sitting in the shade to minimize exposure.  Sun exposure is even more critical than genetics.

Smoking

Do not smoke.  There are many reasons smoking is bad for your health, but when it comes to your skin, it can be extremely aging.  Cigarette smoking releases an enzyme that breaks down collagen and elastin.  Smoking will age your skin and cause you to look much older than you actually are.

Sleep

You must get enough sleep to allow your body to repair and heal itself.  If you aren’t getting enough sleep, cortisol will take over and it causes a break down of skin cells.  Get your sleep and ensure you human growth hormone is in full force, which helps skin stay elastic.  Also, when sleeping try and stay on your back.  The pressure of sleeping on your stomach or your side causes deep lines to occur on the face.

Diet

There are many amazing foods you should select for a great diet.  One of the best foods for your skin is fish oil.  Try and add fish to your diet and see how it improves the look of your skin.  Also, try and enjoy some soy in your diet as well.  Soy can protect your skin and heal photo damage as well.

Moisturize

You must moisturize your skin and give it nourishment.  Without a moisturizer, you skin cannot stay plump and supple and hide fine lines and wrinkles.  Anti-aging products are especially helpful and can be combined with moisturizers.

Don’t Over wash

One thing that can actually hurt you skin is washing too often.  Your skin has natural oils and barriers in place that protect the skin.  If you over wash the skin, you get rid of these oils and protectants that keep the skin moisturized.

Anti-Aging Products

There are many anti-aging products out there that truly repair and improve the skin’s appearance and texture.  Vitamin C is one component of skin care products that can increase collagen production and correct pigmentation problems.  Idebenone is another component that is similar to Coenzyme Q10.  It works as a powerful antioxidant that hydrates the skin and decreases fine lines and wrinkles. Pentapeptides can also be topically applied to the skin and can improve the collagen production and overall look of the skin.
